What’s an NFT wallet and which one should I use?

So you want to get your first NFT, hooray!

First step, you need a wallet.

What’s that? 

A digital wallet allows you to store, transfer, and manage your crypto assets.

They come in many shapes and sizes, but today we’ll focus on the wallet you need for Sintra.

You can also sign up for Sintra with an email or Twitter login, but signing in with a wallet will give you more access to our features and will allow you to get your first NFT (yus!).

Although it may seem intimidating, it isn’t as hard as you think.

Despite being less secure, hot wallets are easy-to-use and the most common as they are built right into your web browser or on mobile.

But which NFT wallet should you go with?

MetaMask Wallet

1st) MetaMask is available as a browser extension and/or as a mobile app, and equips you with a key vault, secure login, token wallet, and token exchange.

Currently, MetaMask does not allow you to connect your bank account to the wallet so you'll have to get your fiat - aka cash - into the wallet another way.

Coinbase Wallet

2nd) Which leads us to Coinbase and Coinbase Wallet. It is a self-custody crypto wallet, putting you in control of your crypto, keys, and data.

The advantage here is you can connect your bank account and transfer funds to your Coinbase Wallet directly from Coinbase while staying on Coinbase. One less step than MetaMask.

You can also purchase a crypto asset like Ethereum or an NFT from Coinbase and then transfer it to your MetaMask wallet.

Wallet Connect

3rd) Wallet Connect, as you can tell from the name this one allows you to connect multiple wallets through one application or connect your one wallet with hundreds of apps.

They currently support Wallet Rainbow, MetaMask, Gnosis Safe, Argent, Crypto.com, and many more.

Ledger Wallet

4th) Ledger offers a hardware wallet - also known as a cold wallet - to connect with and to transfer from. That way, you can self-custody your crypto and NFTs instead of having them in a hot wallet (online).

You can connect your Ledger hardware wallet to MetaMask and add more security to your hot wallet as well. This is the flow Sintra recommends for the most security while also providing access to the platform.

Trust Wallet

5th) Lastly, Trust Wallet offers you an easy way to keep all your cryptocurrencies and your unique ERC721 and ERC1155 crypto NFTs and game assets in one place and is a similar option to MetaMask.

There you have it. Five options of crypto wallets that will help you custody your NFTs and access the full experience of Sintra.
